Writing about life’s peaks and valleys in free verse form can be a constructive way to deal with emotional issues. Linda Vigen Phillips, a local author does just that in her YA novels, Crazy and Behind These Hands. Both books deal with mental or physical health issues that present life-changing challenges to the teen protagonists. Join her for a discussion of selected books in verse, and a hands-on opportunity to explore serious issues through verse.
